About Quênia Ribeiro Quenia Ribeiro is a dancer, choreographer, and dance instructor from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. With over 25 years of experience in the field of dance, she has performed and taught internationally, including in Brazil, Greece, Canada, and throughout the United States. Her work has been featured in interviews and performances broadcast on PBS, NBC, ABC, WPIX, Telemundo, and Fox 5.

Since 2005, Ms. Ribeiro has been a faculty member at the Alvin Ailey Extension in New York City, where she teaches Samba and Afro-Brazilian Dance. As a cultural educator, she has been teaching in New York City since 1997 at numerous institutions, including the José Limón Dance Foundation, Hunter College, Djoniba Dance & Drum Center, and the Harlem School of the Arts. She also teaches in Brooklyn at CUMBE: Center for African and Diaspora Dance and Mark Morris Dance Center.

In addition to working with adult students, Ms. Ribeiro has extensive experience teaching visually impaired senior citizens, as well as children and teens in both public and private school systems. Through her work, she brings Afro-Brazilian dance and creative movement to diverse communities.

Her teaching and choreography have gained wide recognition, further expanded through her series of four instructional Brazilian dance DVDs.
