Rev. Emily Brewer Called as Pastor!
On December 3, 2024, at its stated meeting, the Presbytery of New York City voted to approve Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church’s request to call Rev. Emily S. Brewer to serve as their full-time installed solo Pastor. It is with elation that we share this good news. We are overjoyed by this outcome and immensely grateful to have completed this journey with such care and prayer from our community!

The chart below details the steps undertaken to select our new Pastor, including 1) reviewing applications, 2) multiple rounds of remote and in-person interviews, 3) background checks, 4) a site visit to LAPC, 5) a visit to watch candidates preach from a “neutral pulpit,” and ultimately votes of approval by the Congregation and the Presbytery of New York City.
