
International Women’s Day Celebration 2023
The Women’s Press Collective: Honoring the Leadership of Working Women.
Join us for music, dance, food, short speeches, and lots of camaraderie and solidarity as we celebrate women’s leadership in advancing worker’s rights in traditional and nontraditional fields. Performances include MoJazz, an all-women jazz dance presentation, Batalá New York, an all-women Afro-Brazilian Samba Reggae percussion group, and LAPC’s own Janis Russell and Mike Weatherly. Suggested donation $20, to benefit the Women’s Press Collective’s Publication Benefit Program which advances the voice and the cause of working women and aids women-led organizations fighting for economic justice.

MoJAZZ dance performing an original piece choreographed by Audrey Hubbard Madison with music from “The Imagine Project” by Herbie Hancock.
Two speakers, Hannah Laufer (student at Barnard College) on women in non-traditional employment, and art director Natalie Alcide on women working in advertising and working for change in control of the narrative

Presentation by honoree, Renee Boyd, founder of WE WIN, Women Empowering Women in Non-Traditional Work
