Maundy Thursday Service 7:00PM

Table set at alter with Communion elements

Maundy Thursday Service 7:00PM

We’ll gather beginning at 6:00pm in the Lecture Hall for a Soup & Bread Potluck before heading into the Sanctuary for our time of worship at 7:00 pm.
As part of our time together, you’ll be invited to participate in a reaffirmation of baptism and a celebration of communion before we observe the traditional Tenebrae Service. Click Here to Download the Maundy Thursday Worship Bulletin.
Tenebrae, meaning darkness, follows Christ through his sufferings and death. As the shadows gather, we near the moment of crucifixion. All of this will conclude with the Strepitus, meaning great noise. This moment symbolizes the earthquake that followed Christ’s death. Beginning with a single loud noise, worshippers are invited to stomp their feet orknock their hymnals on the back of the pews.
You can join us in-person or watch the livestream on Facebook and YouTube (@lapcbrooklyn).
If you are joining us in-person, know we can’t wait to see you. Proper wearing of masks and social distancing are strongly suggested inside the Church buildings. We encourage everyone attending in-person to be fully vaccinated and boosted, as able.
Our worship services and many of our community events are accessible online for those who are more comfortable participating remotely. Go to LAPC’s Facebook page or YouTube channel (@lapcbrooklyn)
