The LAPC Christian Education ministry invites our youth to feel they are part of the church community. We work to take care of our children during service, as well as provide opportunities for children to engage in different ways, at different points of their childhood. In addition to the programs listed below, we also organize a Christmas Pageant and Palm Sunday service for youth of all ages to participate in. Past activities have also included a Youth Walk-A-Thon and Vacation Bible School.
Infants through Kindergarten
Free Childcare is available during Sunday Worship services for youth up through and including Kindergarten. LAPC employs adult child care providers along with volunteer adult and teen members of the church. Our childcare room is adjacent to the worship space, and has slides, toys and books to entertain young children.
Kindergarten through 6th Grade
Sunday School is held during Worship Service and is taught by volunteer members of the church. Sunday School includes sharing of joys and concerns, a Bible lesson, arts & crafts, games and community building.
Middle and High School Grades
There is a Youth Group at the Church that meets monthly for teens to share their joys and concerns, volunteer, and plan for Social Justice activities. Every other year, the Pastor leads a Confirmation Class to explore faith, service and membership in the Presbyterian church. The class meets monthly from September through May in the year it is offered.
Youth Band
The LAPC Band performs during Worship services once a month from October through May. The band is always looking for new members who can play an instrument and are committed to practicing most Saturday afternoons.
Youth Liturgy
Teens participate in Worship Services through leading liturgy every second Sunday of the month.
