Circle of More Light

The Circle of More Light is a safe, supportive space where LAPC affirms the gifts and faith journeys of all, regardless of sexual orientation or gender expression. The group has facilitated gatherings of the congregation’s LGTBQIA+ members, friends and allies for sharing stories, planning activities, and offering mutual support. In 1978, Lafayette Avenue became one of the first cohort of Presbyterian “More Light” congregations declaring that sexual orientation should be no bar to membership or ministry. By using these words, we affirm that there is yet “more light” to break from the Word of God on these issues.
