Through its partnerships with local businesses, organizations and institutions, LAPC is a venue for literary and cultural conversations where authors, activists, and community leaders engage the public in discussions of faith, justice, labor, and social change.
Dialog and engagement with attendees is a feature of these events. Many are also live-streamed to reach a wider audience – thanks to the all-volunteer LAPC Audio/Visual team.
Recently, LAPC made itself available as a location for a benefit concert to raise awareness and financial support for immigrant families through its partnership with Make the Road New York; the Women’s Press Collective all-day celebration of International Women’s Day; a panel of artists in conversation about “Disability in Black America,” and a venue for exhibiting handicrafts by Palestinian artisans of Handmade Palestine.
